Getting into the holiday spirit with Wilson’s Landing Fire Department

Residents in communities served by the Wilson’s Landing Fire Department are encouraged to watch Tuesday evening for the flashing lights signifying the annual department Santa Run food drive.
From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on December 5, Santa joins department members on their festively glowing fire vehicles, travelling the streets and roads of the areas they serve from Traders Cove to Shelter Cove, collecting food and cash donations for the West Kelowna branch of the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

With snow in the valley overnight and in the forecast for the weekend, the Regional District of Central Okanagan is reminding residents that during times of sudden or excessive snow dumps, there could be delays for curbside garbage, recycling and yard waste collection. Please be patient, safety comes first.

Updated Administration Overhead Policy
Following a robust review of the Administration Overhead Policy, the Regional Board repealed Policy 7.19 Administrative Overhead Policy and replaced it with the approved BP 18-2023 Administration Overhead Policy. The new policy reflects the key principles of fairness, transparency, reasonableness, equity, stability, and ease of administration by allocating these costs on a basis that aligns the costs with the services provided.
Westshore Estates Water Quality Advisory ends - Nov.30

After consulting with Interior Health, the Regional District of Central Okanagan has rescinded a partial Water Quality Advisory for customers of the Westshore Estates water system.
Water sample testing confirms the water quality is again within acceptable and safe Canadian guidelines for drinking water quality for all properties on the water system.
