Free event to recycle old and unused tires

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is inviting residents to take part in its annual free tire collection event to help reduce mosquito breeding sites.
On Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, residents can drop off any old or unused tires, on or off rims, at no cost. Please clean tires of debris before dropping off. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Okanagan College in Kelowna, 1000 KLO Road, in Parking Lot 17 off West Campus Road.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan offices on KLO Road in Kelowna will be closed on Monday, September 1 for the Labour Day holiday. We look forward to serving you again at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2.

A new tool designed to strengthen the Okanagan’s manufacturing sector and reduce reliance on external supply chains is now live.

Campfire ban across the Central Okanagan begins Thursday

Effective August 28, 2025, at 12 p.m. (noon), all campfires are prohibited throughout Central Okanagan municipalities and electoral area fire service areas to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.
In alignment with our partners at the BC Wildfire Service, and due to high temperatures and dry conditions, the campfire ban will remain in effect until further notice.
