Residents and the public should be aware of the second phase of work underway to continue the removal of danger trees in Rose Valley Regional Park along maintained trails.
Until November 22, 2024, a contracted crew will be falling marked trees in Phase Two of wildfire recovery efforts for the trails damaged by the 2023 McDougall Creek Wildfire.

Now that Halloween is over and November has arrived, the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) reminds residents that they still have time to take advantage of curbside yard waste collection, which runs until the end of December.
Bi-weekly fall yard waste pickup ends Tuesday, December 31 this year. That is the last day in the Central Okanagan for the curbside yard waste pickup program until collection resumes March 3, 2025.

Seasonal use dog program returns to Kaloya and Kopje Regional Parks

Between November 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, dogs and their owners will again have their choice of two paw-some regional parks for seasonal use. The program increases year-round access to parks where dogs are not usually permitted and aligns with the Regional District board strategic priorities.
During this time, the RDCO allows off-leash use in Kopje Regional Park and on-leash use in Kaloya Regional Park, with the exception of the beach and playground areas.
