Localized Boil Water Notice for Killiney Beach

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has issued a precautionary Boil Water Notice for some residents served by the Killiney Beach water system.
This affects the following properties serviced in the Killiney Beach subdivision located off Westside Road:
- 9614 - 9674 Keithley Road
- 502 - 519 Leah Road
Affected customers were notified of the Boil Water Notice last evening following emergency repairs to a break on the main servicing these properties.

Open burning permits end April 30

Open burning season in the Central Okanagan ends on Sunday, April 30.
Until then when conditions allow, all eligible property owners, farmers and other large lot owners with permits from their local fire jurisdiction may burn specific wood debris outdoors. As well, they must follow the BC Open Burning Smoke Control Regulation.

RDCO launches book recycling pilot project

The Regional District Waste Reduction office is launching a three-month pilot project to offer residents of the Central Okanagan a more convenient option for recycling their old books. The goal is to prevent books from getting tossed in residential recycling carts, which ends up contaminating the recycling stream, negatively affecting our communities’ success rates and contracts with Recycle BC.
