Backup water generators and Gas Tax
The Regional Board received a report on the financial implications for installing backup electrical generators on the Killiney Beach and Westshore Estates water systems. Community Works Gas Tax funds could be considered for this project. The report recommends that prior to allocating Community Works Gas Tax funds in 2023, a Board policy be developed for appropriately allocating gas tax funds for eligible projects in the regional district electoral areas.

2023-2027 water rates and fees
The Regional Board has adopted bylaws setting out annual rate adjustments for 2023 through 2027 for each of the six water systems maintained and operated by the regional district. 2023-2027 Financial Plan highlights

2023-2027 Financial Plan timeline
The Regional Board has received an outline of the process leading to the adoption of the 2023-2027 five-year Financial Plan. Highlights will be presented at the December 15 meeting with an initial review of the budget documents, January 19. Further consideration along with public feedback and engagement will take place in February with final adoption at the March 30 Board meeting.

2023 Regional Board - Committee meetings
The Regional Board has approved a new schedule of meeting dates for 2023, including new committee meetings. Starting in January, the Board will meet each month on the first Thursday at 8:30 a.m. and the third Thursday at 6 p.m. The changes will be reflected in an update to the Board Procedures Bylaw.
