Regional Growth Strategy Priority Projects Plan 2024-2028
The Regional Board endorsed the Regional Growth Strategy Priority Project Plan 2024-2028. The Priority Projects Plan will guide regional initiatives over the next several years that cross jurisdictional boundaries and benefit from a regional approach to planning and coordination. While the regional project list is supported in principle, projects will be approved through the annual budget deliberation process.

Following a secret ballot vote at today’s Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) Board meeting, directors elected Loyal Wooldridge to serve as the Board Chair and Blair Ireland to serve as Vice-Chair. The election for Chair and Vice-Chair is held annually at the first meeting in November.
Wooldridge, a Councillor for the City of Kelowna, previously served as Chair of the Regional Board from November 2021 until May 2024, when he voluntarily stepped down during the provincial election....

Economic Development Commission’s Strategy 2025 to 2030
The Regional District of Central Okanagan’s Economic Development Commission presented the strategic planning process and input gathered for their 2025 to 2030 strategy. An outline of next steps was also shared with the Regional Board. The draft plan will be developed and presented to the Regional Board in early 2025.

Central Okanagan demographic and housing projections
The Regional Board was presented with an overview of demographic and housing projection scenarios for the Central Okanagan. The Central Okanagan is one of the fastest growing regions in Canada. By 2046, the region’s population is anticipated to grow by between 43,000 to 119,000 new residents. The high end of this range would bring approximately 54% more people in the working age bracket, supporting our growing economy and aging population....
