It doesn’t matter whether your dog is named Charlie, Bela, Bailey or Lucy*, all dogs three months of age and older must be licensed in the Central Okanagan.
And dog owners can save $20 by renewing or purchasing a new dog license before the end of the month. On March 1, regular annual rates will apply - $40 for a dog that is spayed/neutered and $80 if it is not. The fee discount and rates do not apply to licenses for dogs deemed Aggressive or Dangerous.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan has prepared the 2022 Parcel Tax Roll as required by Section 203 of the Community Charter. The Parcel Tax Roll lists the parcels eligible to be taxed for the following services:
- Lakeshore Road Improvements(Bylaw 1087)
- Ridgeview Fire (Bylaw 909)
- Waste/Environment Management (Bylaw 1298)

New chief named for North Westside Fire Rescue

A new chief will soon be leading the North Westside Fire Rescue department.
Ron Ewert has been appointed to the position by the Regional District of Central Okanagan and begins his duties on February 22.
He brings impressive credentials to the paid-on-call department which serves communities along Westside Road from La Casa to Westshore Estates.

The call is out for 7 to 12 Central Okanagan West Electoral Area residents interested in serving on the committee that will conduct a governance and services study.
The study will engage residents in an analysis of the current regional district governance and service delivery in the Electoral Area with a particular emphasis on the communities within the North Westside Fire Protection area.

January - March spending approved
The Regional Board has approved the carryover of some budgeted 2021 projects to the first three months of 2022. These projects were either not started or are in the process of completion. In addition, a number of 2021 - 2025 Financial Plan amendments were approved to include new projects in 2022 or allow for changes to existing 2022 projects, prior to approval of the 2022 – 2026 Financial Plan.
