Grant to assist Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Government of Canada and Federation of Canadian Municipalities have awarded a grant to the Regional District to assist with long-term planning for its Westside Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The $50,000 contribution through the Municipal Asset Management Program will be used by the RDCO to complete a comprehensive Asset Management Plan for the facility, located off Gellatly Road in West Kelowna.

The Regional Board received a presentation and report from Parks Services outlining program and visitor highlights during 2021. While pandemic public health and safety regulations impacted in-person programs, it’s estimated last year more than 27,600 people took part in a Regional Park interpretive program or event. With the large dump of snow expected through the region over the next few days, the Regional Waste Reduction Office asks that you be patient with your waste collection during winter weather events.
Large accumulations of snow on area roads may delay collection. Winter conditions could affect regular pick-up times. Save on 2022 dog licenses

Central Okanagan dog owners can save $20 by renewing or purchasing a new dog licence for 2022 before the end of February.
Until February 28, a licence for a dog that’s spayed or neutered costs $20. If the dog isn’t spayed or neutered the fee is $60. On March 1, licenses return to the regular annual rates of $40 and $80.
