British Columbia’s annual Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week is underway and the Regional District of Central Okanagan paid-on-call fire departments remind you to prevent carbon monoxide (CO) build up in your home by properly maintaining all fuel-burning appliances and installing CO alarms.

Fall 2021 Yard Waste Ends

A reminder that fall yard waste collection continues until the end of December so there’s still lots of time to take advantage of the good weather and get your yard cleaned up before winter.
Bi-weekly fall yard waste pickup ends Friday December 31. That’s the last day in the Central Okanagan for the curbside yard waste pickup program until collection resumes March 1, 2022.

We have completed the engineering assessment of the entire water system and work is underway to address the recommendations. The Do Not Consume Advisory continues to be in effect as boiling the water will not make the water safe to drink.

A $60,000 Provincial government restructure planning grant will help facilitate a governance and services study for the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area, with an emphasis on North Westside communities.
Municipal Affairs Minister Josie Osborne says the grant will assist the RDCO over the next year, engage with residents to understand their concerns and interests about governance and to identify robust options within the regional district framework for addressing their most pressing needs.
