Seasonal use dog program returns to Kaloya and Kopje Regional Parks

Between November 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, dogs and their owners will again have their choice of two paw-some regional parks for seasonal use. The program increases year-round access to parks where dogs are not usually permitted and aligns with the Regional District board strategic priorities.
During this time, the RDCO allows off-leash use in Kopje Regional Park and on-leash use in Kaloya Regional Park, with the exception of the beach and playground areas.

Rescind of partial Boil Water Notice for Killiney Beach water system

After consulting with Interior Health, the Regional District of Central Okanagan has rescinded a partial Boil Water Notice for residents served by the Killiney Beach water system.
The precautionary notice was issued October 24, 2024, following construction for the following addresses:
- 2-14 Blarney Place
- 9514-9554 Hodges Road
- 303-405 Kildare Way
- 302-505 Killarney Way
- 9365 & 9375 Westside Road
- 410-491 Galway Place

Successful season for Pop-Up Recycling Depots in Lake Country and Peachland

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 2024 season for the Pop-Up Recycling Depots in Lake Country and Peachland.
This year, a total of 16 pop-up events were held and over 12.8 tonnes of recyclable materials were collected. The pop-up events provided residents with convenient access to recycling services, diverting tonnes from the landfill into proper recycling streams.

Water outage for some customers of Westshore Estates water system

On Thursday, October 31, 2024, between 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, there will be a water outage for some customers of Westshore Estates water system to repair a leak. The service interruption will impact properties at the following addresses:
- 10732 to 10624 Westshore Road – Even numbered addresses
- Hillside Drive – All addresses

RDCO offering free radon test kits

With support from Interior Health and BC Centre for Disease Control, the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is collaborating with Take Action on Radon to provide free radon test kits. While supplies last, approximately 400 radon gas test kits are available for Central Okanagan workplaces and residents.
