Steady leadership continues as the regional board re-elects chair and vice-chair

Following a secret ballot at today’s Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) regional board meeting, directors re-elected Loyal Wooldridge as board chair and Blair Ireland as vice-chair. The election for chair and vice-chair is held annually at the first meeting in November.

With the holidays around the corner, join the Joe Rich Fire Rescue crews to make this year’s 21st annual Community Food Drive a success.
Last year’s campaign collected over 2,580 kilograms of food and more than $2,100 in donations for the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
Items most in need are canned vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, rice, healthy cereal, baby food and formula and diapers. However, a mix of non-perishable items are welcome.

Upcoming November closures of Mission Creek Greenway during KLO Bridge construction

The Mission Creek Greenway Bypass Trail at KLO Road will be closed on Monday, November 17 for preparation work related to gas main installation. This work is part of the City of Kelowna’s K.L.O. Road Bridge Replacement Project, which includes replacing the K.L.O. bridge, installing a roundabout and improving the surrounding area.

Still time for yard waste pickup until the end of December

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) reminds residents that curbside yard waste collection continues until December 31, 2025, and will resume Monday, March 2, 2026.
To ensure pickup, please place your yard waste cart at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day. Keep materials loose and avoid overloading (maximum 100 kg) to prevent freezing and ensure the lid opens easily.
