Once Halloween is over and your pumpkin decorations have had their time to shine, you can give them a whole new life.
Pumpkins are a great addition to a backyard composter as they’re high in nitrogen. If you cut them in smaller chunks with your fall leaves, they’ll break down much faster than throwing the whole pumpkin in. Next spring you’ll have a nutrient-rich soil amendment to add to your garden.

Access closure for one entrance at Shannon Lake Regional Park

Visitors to Shannon Lake Regional Park will notice construction due to the replacement of the existing staircase leading from 2230 Shannon Ridge Drive to the Eagle Trail. Park access will be closed in this section until Friday, October 27, 2023.
Visitors are asked to avoid the area under construction until the work is complete.

Over the next few weeks, crews from Pacific Flow Control will be out in Electoral Area West and Electoral Area East to complete servicing work on fire hydrants for the six RDCO water systems. The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has contracted Pacific Flow Control to complete fire hydrant servicing.
