Goats Peak Regional Park reopens

Goats Peak Regional Park is open again for visitors following an investigation by the BC Conservation Officer Service.
No recent cougar activity was identified during the latest check through the 63-hectare park by the Conservation Officer Service and the park is allowed to open.
For safety reasons, the park located off Highway 97 south in West Kelowna was closed last Tuesday (Feb. 28) as Conservation Officers followed up on a recent report of a cougar sighting in the park.

Vegetation work along Greenway

Visitors along a section of the Mission Creek Greenway Regional Park should be aware of annual vegetation maintenance and pruning work.
Starting Monday, March 13 (updated on Mar. 7) for approximately five days, a contracted crew for the Ministry of Forests will be pruning trees and doing other vegetation maintenance along the recreational trail upstream from south of Lakeshore Road. Temporary closures are anticipated in areas where the crew is working.

Goats Peak Regional Park is closed until further notice after a cougar was recently reported in the park.
For their safety, Regional Parks Services staff and the BC Conservation Officer Service ask Central Okanagan residents to stay out of the 63-hectare park located off Highway 97 south in West Kelowna.
Conservation Officers investigated and identified increased cougar activity in the area. As a precaution, the park will remain closed.
