Killiney Beach partial water interruption notice

Some customers of the Killiney Beach Water System primarily along Kildare Way should be aware of an emergency water service outage on Thursday, September 14, 2023 as Regional District crews complete an emergency repair.

The work is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will impact water service for approximately 50 properties on the following roads:

• Kildare Way
• Westside Road

  • 305, 309, 313, 319, and 325

Bear awareness in our communities and wild spaces

As fall approaches, visitors to RDCO regional and community parks should expect more signs that bears are out and active.  With ripening fruit and spawning Kokanee salmon returning to streams, reports and sightings of bears typically increase.

North Westside Road residents within the Central Okanagan will have a special opportunity to dispose of unwanted bulky items.

McDougall Creek Wildfire impact on services and fees
Recognizing the strain that the McDougall Creek Wildfire continues to place on residents, the Regional Board waived several fees and charges and extended the use of recreational vehicles as temporary buildings from one year to two years for residents who lost their homes. Waived fees include garbage, yard waste and mandatory residential recycle material fees, demolition permit fees and temporary building permit fees.
