No holiday curbside collection changes

It’s business as usual for curbside garbage, recycling and yard waste collection in the Central Okanagan during the holiday season. That’s because this years’ statutory holidays (December 25 and January 1) fall on a weekend. Your garbage, recycling and yard waste will be picked up as usual on your regular collection day. Yard waste collection ends December 30.

All services and programs provided from offices in the Regional District of Central Okanagan on KLO Road in Kelowna will be closed Monday, December 26 through Monday, January 2 inclusive.
During this time any emergencies involving Regional District water systems should be directed to 250-868-5299. Payments, business license renewals or new license purchases may be made online at rdco.com/payments. Dog license renewals for 2023 and new license purchases can be made at rdco.com/dogs.

Dog pilot projects return in Lake Country

Dog owners have another seasonal chance to visit two regional parks in the District of Lake Country that normally don’t allow dogs.
Now through the end of March, the Regional District is doing pilot projects in Kopje Regional Park and Kaloya Regional Park.
Until March 31, dogs are allowed off-leash in Kopje, and on-leash on trails within Kaloya. Dogs are not allowed on the beach or playground areas of either park. The projects provide more dog-friendly access options during the slower off-season...

2023-2027 Financial Plan timeline
The Regional Board has received an outline of the process leading to the adoption of the 2023-2027 five-year Financial Plan. Highlights will be presented at the December 15 meeting with an initial review of the budget documents, January 19. Further consideration along with public feedback and engagement will take place in February with final adoption at the March 30 Board meeting.

Joe Rich residents are encouraged to make this year’s 18th annual Community food drive the best-ever!
Last year, more than 1,100 kilograms of food and over $2,200 in donations were collected for the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
Sunday, December 11 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Joe Rich Fire Rescue members will travel throughout the community collecting food, cash and cheque donations.
