Wilson's Landing Fire Santa Run food collection

Residents in communities served by the Wilson’s Landing fire department are encouraged to watch Monday evening December 5 for the flashing lights signifying the annual department Santa Run food drive.
From 6 – 9 p.m. Santa joins department members on their festively glowing fire vehicles, travelling the streets and roads of the areas they serve from Traders Cove to Shelter Cove, collecting food and cash donations for the West Kelowna branch of the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

At the Inaugural Statutory meeting of the Regional District Board, the Oath of Office was administered and signed by all directors. Kelowna councillor Loyal Wooldridge was acclaimed by directors to serve a second year as chair. West Kelowna mayor Gord Milsom was acclaimed as vice-chair serving for a fifth year.

Regional Board directors have taken their oath of office to begin their four year term serving the residents of Central Okanagan.
Directors acclaimed City of Kelowna councillor Loyal Wooldridge as chair and West Kelowna mayor Gord Milsom as vice-chair.

With snow back on the roads after the balmy temperatures of late, the Regional Waste Reduction Office reminds you to please be patient with your waste collection during winter weather events.
During times of heavy snowfall, or excessive inclement weather and icy roadways, if your garbage, yard waste or recycling collection is missed on your regular collection day, please leave your carts out until collection occurs. Regional District offices and facilities will be closed Friday, November 11 for Remembrance Day. Service resumes at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 14.
