Taking recommended FireSmart actions could earn Central Okanagan electoral area property owners a rebate for their efforts.

Falcon Ridge Water Quality Advisory removed July 14

After consulting with Interior Health, the Regional District of Central Okanagan has rescinded a Water Quality Advisory for residents served by the Falcon Ridge water system.
The advisory was issued May 8, 2023, affecting approximately 60 properties connected to the Falcon Ridge system off Highway 33 because of freshet-related turbidity in the Mission Creek water source.

Keep RDCO parks safe from fire

With rising fire risk due to continued hot and dry conditions, the Regional District reminds visitors to use caution and be aware of fire prevention and safety requirements when in regional parks throughout the summer.
Smoking, vaping and open flames are not allowed any time in regional or RDCO community parks. Propane fueled barbeques are permitted but must be attended and kept safely away from any flammable materials.

Mission Creek Regional Park EECO closed this week

The turnover of exhibits requires the closure of the Robert Hobson Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO) from July 11- 13 inclusive.
In addition, running water and washrooms at Mission Creek Regional Park are unavailable Thursday, July 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to watermain work nearby. Visitors are advised to bring water to the park and playground which will remain open. Additional portable toilets will be available.
