EECO closure extended

Due to weather conditions, the closure of the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO) in Mission Creek Regional Park has been extended through Monday, December 20 so that crews can complete work to replace the walkway outside the facility. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The EECO will open again at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 21.

All services and programs provided from offices in the Regional District of Central Okanagan on KLO Road in Kelowna will be closed from 4 p.m. Friday, December 24 through Sunday, January 2 inclusive.

The Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO) in Mission Creek Regional Park will be closed tomorrow and Wednesday Dec. 14 and 15 as crews complete the walkway outside the facility.

No curbside holiday collection changes

There will be no changes to your curbside collection schedule as this years’ statutory holidays (December 25, 26, and January 1) fall on the weekend. Your garbage, recycling and yard waste will be picked up as usual on your regular collection day. Yard waste collection ends December 31..

New garbage tip fees at Westside transfer station

Starting January 1, 2022 it will cost slightly more to dispose of garbage at the Westside Residential Waste Disposal and Recycling Center on Asquith Road in West Kelowna.
This increase approved by the Regional Board earlier this fall is to help cover increased transport expenses and a tipping fee increase at the City of Kelowna’s Glenmore Landfill where all material in the region is disposed of.
