Wilson's Landing Fire Santa Run food drive

Residents in communities served by the Wilson’s Landing fire department are encouraged to watch for the flashing lights indicating the 10th annual department Santa Run food collection Monday evening, November 29.
From 6 – 9 p.m. department members accompanied by Santa will travel with their fire vehicles throughout the areas they serve from Traders Cove to Shelter Cove, collecting food and cash donations for the West Kelowna branch of the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank.

Joe Rich residents are encouraged to make this year’s Community food bank collection the best-ever!
Last year they donated more than 748 kilograms of food and over $1600 to the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank.
Sunday, December 5 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Joe Rich Fire Rescue members will be travelling throughout the community collecting non-perishable food and cash or cheque donations.

Killiney Beach Do Not Consume Removed

In consultation with Interior Health, the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has rescinded a Do Not Consume Notice (issued Sept. 2) for residents served by the Killiney Beach water system. With the removal of the Do Not Consume notice, all water from the tap is considered safe and water quality is within acceptable Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines.
This affects approximately 295 properties serviced in the Killiney Beach subdivision located off Westside Road.

Regional District of Central Okanagan Board Directors have elected a new chairperson.
Following a secret ballot vote at today’s Regional Board annual inaugural meeting, Director Loyal Wooldridge was named to succeed Gail Given who served as chair for seven years from December 2014 to November 2021.
