Stage 2 outdoor watering restrictions begin

Effective June 16, 2025, Stage 2 outdoor watering restrictions are in place for all RDCO water systems which include Star Place, Falcon Ridge, Killiney Beach, Sunset Ranch, Upper Fintry / Shalal Road / Valley of the Sun and Westshore Estates. Restrictions are expected to remain in place until September 15, 2025, unless drought conditions worsen.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO), following recommendations from Interior Health Authority, has issued a swimming advisory at Reiswig Regional Park following higher than acceptable E.coli counts in water samples.

Boil Water Notice removed for Westshore Estates water system

The Regional District of Central Okanagan has removed a Boil Water Notice for residents served by the Westshore Estates water system in Central Okanagan West Electoral Area.
Testing has confirmed that water quality is within acceptable Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines.
The Boil Water Notice was put into effect on April 11, 2025, due to elevated algae levels and high turbidity due to freshet (flood season streamflow from rain and melting snow).

Regional District urges fire safety in parks amid hot, dry conditions

Just in time for summer, the Phase 1 portion of Rose Valley Regional Park will reopen on June 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Visitors are reminded to follow all posted signage and remain in designated open areas for their safety, as rehabilitation work involving small equipment is still ongoing.
