The Central Okanagan is proud to join communities across Canada in celebrating Crime Stoppers Month this January. This is the Central Okanagan’s 38th annual observance, highlighting the vital role of Crime Stoppers programs in keeping our communities safe.
Crime Stoppers is a community-based program that empowers residents to actively prevent and solve crimes. By providing a safe and anonymous way for individuals to report information, Crime Stoppers has become an invaluable tool for local RCMP.

If you have a dog that is over three months old and has lived in the Central Okanagan for more than 30 days, your dog needs I.D., too! Save $20 by renewing or purchasing your dog’s 2025 licence before February 28.
Until February 28, a licence for a dog that is spayed or neutered is $20. If the dog isn’t spayed or neutered the fee is $60. On March 1, licence fees return to the regular annual rates of $40 and $80.

Limited reopening of Rose Valley Regional Park

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is pleased to announce the reopening of some trails in Rose Valley Regional Park after a 16-month closure due to damage from the McDougall Creek wildfire.
Select trails within the Phase 1 recovery area (21.5 hectares/ 55 acres) of the park, a portion of the Yellow Bell Loop Trail and Bunchgrass Trail are now accessible to the public. Snow may cause waste collection delays

With snow on the ground and in the forecast over the holidays, the Regional District of Central Okanagan reminds residents that sudden or excessive snow dumps may result in delays for curbside garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection.
Residents receiving curbside pickup are reminded that if your pickup is missed on your collection day, notify the curbside collection hauler and leave your carts out until collection occurs. Please be patient; safety comes first.
