Business waste makes up 70% of the waste in the Central Okanagan. Learning how to dispose of waste in a responsible way contributes to the sustainability of your business and will help extend the life of our only local landfill.
Garbage and recycling options
- Hire a waste hauling company for both recyclables and garbage.
- Self-haul:
- Take garbage to the Glenmore Landfill (2710-2720 John Hindle Drive, Kelowna). Commercial recyclables are not accepted at the Glenmore Landfill.
- Take recyclables to Planet Earth Recycling (1400 Industrial Road, West Kelowna). This is the only depot that accepts self-haul commercial recyclables.
- For larger, regular volumes of recyclables, set up an account with Cascades Recovery Kelowna.
Mandatory recyclables
Waste loads found with mandatory recyclables mixed in, are subject to a $150/tonne mandatory recyclables surcharge.
