Materials must be secured and covered with a tarp before transporting to any disposal location. Before heading to any disposal location that your materials are accepted. See banned materials disposal guide for details. Before heading to a transfer station, ensure you are an authorized resident.

At the Westside Residential Waste and Recycling Centre site, 2640 Asquith Road, West Kelowna, BC. The Westside Landfill was operated as a municipal solid waste landfill under Operational Certificate (OC) PR#12217 issued by British Columbia Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. The Westside Landfill received 782,395 tonnes of municipal solid waste from 1960 to 2010 when it was closed and partially covered. The Closure Plan was accepted by the Ministry in 2017 and the closure work was completed in 2018. Regular monitoring is carried out as outlined in the OC and the Updated Landfill Monitoring Program and details are available in the annual reports.
