All waste generated in the Central Okanagan is transported to the Glenmore Landfill. Disposing of waste in a responsible way contributes to sustainability in your community and will help extend the life of our only local landfill.
Materials must be secured and covered with a tarp for transport to any disposal location. Before heading to any disposal location ensure that your materials are accepted. See banned materials disposal guide for details.
This transfer station is for authorized North Westside Road residents only (i.e. local residents paying utility fees to RDCO). New residents should see site manager for application form to use transfer station.

Sugarloaf Forest Service Road, West Kelowna BC
Follow the signs – turn at the corner of Westside Road and Sugarloaf Forest Service Road (approximately 3.2 km past Udell Road in Killiney Beach).
Hours
Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Holiday closures: December 25-26, January 1, and Easter Sunday

Special events
Bulky item collection
The RDCO hosts two bulky item collection events throughout the year at this transfer station, one in the summer (June/July) and another in the fall (October) during regular operating hours.
During these week long events, residents with valid ID cards can dispose of large household items for a minimal cost.

The RDCO hosts a hazardous waste collection event once a year at this transfer station during regular operating hours.
During this one-day event, residents with valid ID cards can dispose of unwanted household hazardous and electronic waste (no commercial waste allowed).
