The Regional District provides contract dog pound services and assistance throughout the Central Okanagan. Dog licences through Westbank First Nation are not part of the RDCO dog licensing program, however we will work together to get your dog home safely. Residents on Okanagan Indian Band IR#7 in the Lake Country area are not required to purchase a dog licence, so there is no program in place to get your dog home safely should it become lost.

Is your dog missing?

For public and staff safety, the dog pound is open to one person per visit. Please call or email about your lost dog before visiting. We are still providing pre-arranged pickup and drop-off for dogs.

890 Weddell Place, Kelowna

Call the dog pound at 250-469-6284.

Email the dog pound

Open Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed statutory holidays).

If you are calling after hours, please leave your name, phone number, a description of your dog, and the location it went missing from on the pound voicemail. As a follow up, you should also contact the pound again during regular business hours to ensure your message was received. In addition, you should call the Kelowna SPCA at 250-861-7722 in case your dog was taken to their shelter.

Have you found a stray dog?

If you have found a stray dog, please call the dog pound at 250-469-6284.

We are open Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed statutory holidays).

If reporting after hours, leave a voicemail with your name, phone number, a description of the dog and where the dog was found. You may also wish to use our after-hours drop-off kennel (closed in extreme weather). Please place the dog inside the kennel and close the outside lock.
