The December 31 deadline is approaching for business licence renewals for businesses operating in the Central Okanagan East and/or Central Okanagan West Electoral Areas. Renewal notices have been distributed either by mail or email with information for fee payment options. The two electoral areas include communities such as Joe Rich, Ellison, south Lakeshore Road, Brent Road, Trepanier, North Westside, Traders Cove, Shelter Cove, Wilson’s Landing, Fintry, Killiney Beach and Westshore Estates.
To avoid a late fee of $25, annual renewals must be purchased before December 31 for $85. After that date, all licence renewals will be $110 which includes a $25 late fee.
The Regional District participates in an inter-community business licence program. The inter-community licence allows qualifying businesses the flexibility to work in one or more of the other participating municipalities in the Okanagan-Similkameen corridor without purchasing an additional business licence for each jurisdiction. To qualify, local businesses based in or doing work in the electoral areas must first have a Regional District business licence before applying to purchase the inter-community business licence for an additional $150.
Business owners are encouraged to take advantage of the convenient and secure online renewal/application option by visiting the Regional District website rdco.com/payments. Alternatively, payment may be made by mail, through online banking or in person at 1450 KLO Road, Kelowna BC V1W 3Z4.
Please note the office will be closed December 25 through January 1, 2023. For more information on business licensing visit rdco.com/businesslicense, contact Development Services at 250-469-6211, email business@rdco.com or visit in person at 1450 KLO Road, Kelowna.
