Construction related to a water main extension along Peregrine Road for the Falcon Ridge water system will be underway until late July 2024.
While work is underway, residents may notice construction vehicles and workers in the area. Please observe directional signage and worker direction.
Following installation of the new water main, eight properties may be without water as the connection is completed including:
- 8315-8457 Peregrine Road
An additional notice will be provided in advance of the service interruption. Water service will be restored for any affected properties as quickly as possible.
Residents may wish to:
- Shut off hot and cold faucets and any equipment that requires water;
- Store sufficient drinking water for the anticipated period of interruption;
- Isolate the supply to hot water tanks;
- If not isolated, avoid running hot water as impurities could be drawn into the hot water tank and may cause problems with its operation;
- Fill a bathtub or other large container with water to use for toilet flushing and only flush when absolutely necessary; and
- Use anti-bacterial hand sanitizer for hand washing.
Once the water supply has been restored, it is recommended that affected customers run a cold water tap until the water runs clear.
Following the construction work, a precautionary Boil Water Notice may be in place only for the affected properties. No other properties on the water system would be affected by the notice. Roadside sign notices will be in place advising of the water notice.
As a precaution it is recommended infants, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems and anyone wishing additional protection on the affected properties should boil all water intended for drinking, washing fruit and vegetables, making beverages, ice or brushing teeth for at least one minute. As a safe alternative to boiled water from the tap, affected customers may choose to use bottled or distilled water.
RDCO Engineering Services crews will flush the impacted section of the system to remove any impurities that may have entered during construction.
If put in place, the boil water notice will continue until testing confirms water is within acceptable Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines.
