Fall into the season with programs rustled up by the Regional District of Central Okanagan Parks Visitor Services. There’s a crisp lineup of park programs to help connect you with nature and offer the best autumn activities for the season.
“Our fall programs capture the spirit of resilience and the power of nature's regeneration and reinforce the importance of preserving our natural world,” says Jill Hamilton, Supervisor, RDCO Visitor Services & Community Relations. “Whether it's learning about the masters of disguise in the animal kingdom or marveling at the celestial wonders above, each activity offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and learn something new.”
The new fall program guide is available anytime online at rdco.com/parksguide and has everything you need to know about all the activities, events and programs in Regional Parks through to the end of December. Highlights this autumn include:
- Spooktacular: Join us for a ghoulishly good time! Dress up in your Halloween costume and take a festive walk through the trails to admire all the creatively carved pumpkins lighting the way.
- Night sky club for young explorers: A 4-week program for youth, 9 to 12 to explore the secrets of nighttime wildlife that thrive in the dark. Weekly adventures include star chart reading, games, and crafty arts inspired by the night sky.
- The masked bandits: It’s spooky season! Join us for a family-friendly nature walk and learn about animals that are masters of disguise!
Most programs are offered free of charge; however, advance registration is required and opens on the first of each month at rdco.com/parkprograms. For more information about any regional park program, visit rdco.com/parks, email eeco@rdco.com or call the EECO at 250-469-6140.
