Zoning Amendment Bylaw No.871-285 – Corrugated metal fencing
The Regional Board gave first three readings to an amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 871 to permit the use of finished corrugated metal for fencing, provided that exposed edges are capped or framed with other materials.
Letter of Support for Black Mountain Irrigation District
The Regional Board approved a Letter of Support for Black Mountain Irrigation District’s application for a grant under the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB) Water Conservation and Quality Improvement Grant program.
Curbside food waste collection engagement results
The Regional Board received a report on the results of engagement on curbside food waste collection undertaken in late 2023. The report indicated that as a region, 73% would support a curbside food waste program and 83% said they would likely participate in a food waste program if it was implemented. Next steps for the project include additional public engagement focused on potential service design and delivery, with a detailed proposal brought forward to the Board by the end of 2024. Brent Road Fire Protection Agreement extension
The Regional Board approved a one-year extension of the current Brent Road Fire Protection Agreement between the District of Peachland and the Regional District of Central Okanagan. A longer-term agreement beyond 2024 is also in development.
Public feedback on the 2024-2028 five-year financial plan
The Regional Board received a report from the Director of Financial Services on public feedback gathered on the 2024-2028 five-year financial plan. Following the report, the Regional Board approved the proposed financial plan. The financial plan bylaws will be brought forward for adoption at the March 14 Regional Board meeting. North Westside Community Association Grant-in-Aid Funding
The Regional Board approved Grant-in-Aid funding of $3,400 for the North Westside Community Association.
