The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is preparing the 2025-2029 Financial Plan and is seeking comments from residents.
“The draft 2025-2029 Financial Plan is ready for review, and we are seeking feedback from residents on programming, funding requirements and initiatives,” said Tania McCabe, Director of Financial Services. “The draft financial plan focuses on continuing to deliver critical services to our communities, advancing the priorities of the Regional Board and fulfilling regulatory requirements, all while keeping pace with growth and inflation. Priorities within the plan include a focus on emergency preparedness, stewardship of the environment and providing residents with avenues for improving or maintaining their health and wellness.”
The proposed financial plan includes a $4 million increase in the Regional District’s operating budget, raising it from $65.6 million to $69.6 million, which represents a 6% increase. Unlike municipalities, regional districts do not have one tax rate. This means that the impact on each property owner varies depending on where they live, the services they receive and the value of their property. Preliminary average tax impacts for each community within the Central Okanagan are outlined below:
