On Thursday, October 31, 2024, between 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, there will be a water outage for some customers of Westshore Estates water system to repair a leak. The service interruption will impact properties at the following addresses:
- 10732 to 10624 Westshore Road – Even numbered addresses
- Hillside Drive – All addresses
To prepare for the outage residents may wish to:
- Store sufficient drinking water for the anticipated period of interruption.
- Shut off hot and cold faucets and any equipment that requires water;
- Isolate the supply to hot water tanks - if not isolated, avoid running hot water as impurities could be drawn into the hot water tank and may cause problems with its operation.
- Fill a bathtub or other large container with water to use for toilet flushing and only flush when absolutely necessary; and
- Use anti-bacterial hand sanitizer for hand washing.
After the service interruption, RDCO will flush the area once the repair is complete. It is recommended that affected customers run a cold water tap until the water runs clear.
Following the interruption, a precautionary Boil Water Notice (BWN) may be required. Should that occur, notices will be communicated via email notification and posted to the RDCO website. Any precautionary BWN will remain in effect until testing confirms water quality is within Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines.
We understand water outages are inconvenient and appreciate your patience and understanding.
The Regional District provides water service to just over 1,100 connections in six areas. For information on RDCO water systems, visit rdco.com/water or contact RDCO Engineering Services at engineer@rdco.com or 250-469-6241.
