Background on the 2022 study | ||||||||||||
What is the study?The Central Okanagan West and North Westside Governance and Services study engaged residents in an analysis of the current regional district governance and service delivery in the electoral area with a particular emphasis on the communities within the North Westside Fire Protection area. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs provided a $60,000 Restructure Planning Grant to the RDCO to conduct a governance and services study for the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area with an emphasis on North Westside communities. A study committee of 12 people was appointed by the Regional Board on the recommendation of the Electoral Area Director. The members were selected based on their experience and interest expressed in their application to lead the process on behalf of the community. This was not an incorporation study. What did the committee do?The committee’s work built on the 2017 North Westside Services and Community Issues Review - Final Report and advised and assisted community members to understand their governance concerns, common interests and provide options under the regional district governance framework to address their most pressing needs. Who was on the committee?Study committee members were appointed by the Regional Board on the recommendation of the Electoral Area Director based on their experience and interest expressed in their application.
