Resident elector voter qualifications |
A resident elector is anyone who meets all of the qualifications below and lives within the electoral area boundary including dependents and tenants of rental properties:
Resident electors must present two pieces of identification, one with a signature to election officials at the voting place confirming who you are and where you currently live. Acceptable identification includes: BC Drivers License, ICBC Insurance documents, BC ID card, Care card, Social Insurance card, BC Survey of Tax Notice, Utility bill, Credit card. |
Non-resident property elector voter qualifications |
A non-resident property elector is a person who owns property within an electoral area but does not live there.
You may vote as a non-resident property elector if you meet all the following criteria:
Non-resident property electors must present two pieces of identification, one with a signature confirming who you are and where you currently live. Acceptable identification includes: BC Drivers License, ICBC Insurance documents, BC ID card, Care card, Social Insurance card, BC Survey of Tax Notice, Utility bill, Credit card.

An election by voting is not required for the following positions as the candidates have been declared ‘Elected by Acclamation’: Regional District of Central Okanagan Board - Electoral Area Director
Central Okanagan Board of Education – School Trustee Zone I

Voting in-person in Central Okanagan West |
In-person (election for School District No. 23 - School Trustee, Zone II): Register to vote at the polling place on the day that you vote. Two pieces of acceptable ID are required to sign the voting book. General local government election day - Saturday, October 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Advance voting Wednesday, October 5 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Curbside voting is available at each polling location by asking election staff for assistance. They will bring your ballot to your vehicle. You may ask a relative, friend or election staff to assist you if you are unable to mark your own ballot. If you require an interpreter, please have one accompany you to the polling station.
An election by voting is not required for the Electoral Area Director as the candidate has been declared ‘Elected by Acclamation’: Regional District of Central Okanagan Board - Electoral Area Director

Mail-in ballot voting information for Electoral Areas |
If an election is required, resident electors and non-resident property electors also have the option to vote by mail. Qualified voters may make application for a mail ballot and vote by mail. The request for a mail ballot package must be made by 4 p.m. Thursday, October 6 by contracting the Chief/Deputy Election Officer:
A reminder that, to be counted, completed mail ballots must be delivered by mail, courier, or by hand to the Regional District at 1450 KLO Rd by the close of voting at 8 p.m. on October 15.
**Note: Voting is not required in Electoral Area East as both Area Director and School District Trustee Zone 1 were elected by acclamation. |
