Wilson’s Landing is a small rural community in the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area, with about 175 homes and roughly 500 seasonal residents along the Westside Road corridor from Trader’s Cove to Shelter Cove. The area also includes Lake Okanagan Resort and several camp facilities.
Established in 1984, Wilson’s Landing Fire Department began with a single engine stored at a member’s home before moving into its first one‑bay hall, which still sits beside the current station. The department’s early roster included four female firefighters, which was unusual for that era.
Local wildfire and response conditions are shaped by forests dominated by Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, alongside the narrow and varied terrain of Westside Road.
