Bulky item collection event for North Westside residents
North Westside Road residents within the Central Okanagan will have a special opportunity to dispose of unwanted bulky items during a week-long event in October at the North Westside Transfer Station.
Between October 7 and 14, 2026, authorized North Westside Transfer Station users with valid ID, can dispose of large household items for a cost of $20 per truckload. The event takes place during regular operating hours and payment methods are by cash or cheque only.
Acceptable items include:
- scrap metal items such as shelving, bed frames and BBQs
- household and lawn furniture such as mattresses, couches, shelving, tables and chairs
- appliances such as dishwashers, washers, dryers, fridges and freezers (fridges and freezers accepted at no charge)
The North Westside Road transfer station is open Monday, Wednesday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. It is located on Sugarloaf Mountain/Whiteman Creek Forest Service Road, off of Westside Road.
Please note, construction and demolition material and hazardous waste (including e-waste such as computers or electronics, batteries and propane tanks) will not be accepted at this event. Household hazardous waste can be dropped off at Battery Doctors in Kelowna anytime during regular business hours.
