Due to continued dry conditions and rising temperatures, the fire danger rating in Regional District of Central Okanagan regional and community parks is now high (level 4).
The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is welcoming the community to Wonders of Water on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mission Creek Regional Park. This free community event offers a fun, hands-on way for people of all ages to learn about the importance of clean, healthy water systems.

Bright yellow blooms of arrowleaf balsamroot are once again brightening up hillsides across the Central Okanagan, marking the arrival of spring in Regional Parks such as Kalamoir Regional Park and sntsk’il’ntən–Black Mountain Regional Park.

Burning will continue as conditions allow throughout the open burning season, which typically runs until April 30, 2026.

Controlled pile burning is scheduled for Rose Valley Regional Park.
The trail will reopen temporarily for weekend access.
