Central Okanagan West Electoral Area

The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has received $600,000 through the FireSmart Community Funding and Supports program to help residents in RDCO electoral areas reduce wildfire risk around their homes, properties and neighbourhoods over the next two years.

With support from Interior Health, Take Action on Radon, the BC Centre for Disease Control, and participating local governments, the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is once again offering free radon test kits.

Effective Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon), the ban on open burning will be lifted in most areas of the Central Okanagan in alignment with BC Wildfire Kamloops Fire Centre’s Category 2 and 3 Prohibition rescindment.
