Drielle Doyon is beginning an exciting new chapter, both academically and professionally. Now studying Sustainability at UBC Okanagan after transferring from UVic’s Forest Biology program, this summer marks her first hands-on experience in her new field. Drielle is eager to apply what she’s learning, and her interests outside of work, from equestrian sports to paddle boarding, reflect a deep appreciation for both land and water. If you see her on a break, chances are she’s perfecting her next great cup of coffee. |

Fletcher McBride has already built a strong connection with the region. Originally from Ottawa, he moved to Kelowna to study zoology at UBCO and quickly fell in love with the area. His background as an aquatic invasive species technician with OASISS has given him valuable field experience, but it is his curiosity about the natural world that truly stands out, especially when it comes to spotting wildlife, with birds topping his list. For Fletcher, working in parks is not just a job, it is a chance to immerse himself in the ecosystems he studies. |

Returning student Aiden Bradley is no stranger to the RDCO team. Now pursuing Physical Geography at Thompson Rivers University, Aiden combines his academic interests in climate and GIS with a strong personal passion for the outdoors. His summers are spent hiking and camping, while winters are dedicated to skiing. Fresh off a lifelong dream trip to Norway, Aiden is bringing renewed energy and experience back to Parks Operations for another season. |
Together, this group of students represents more than just seasonal staff. They are the next generation of environmental stewards, community builders and outdoor enthusiasts. Their diverse backgrounds and shared passion for the natural world help ensure that RDCO parks remain welcoming, well maintained and ready for everyone to enjoy.
So the next time you are out on a local trail, relaxing in a regional park or simply soaking in the Okanagan sunshine, remember that behind the scenes, it is people like Cole, Drielle, Connor, Paul, Fletcher and Aiden helping make those experiences possible.
