North Westside Road Transfer Station household hazardous waste round-up
Residents will have an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste products (HHW).
On Saturday, July 19, North Westside residents will have an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste products (HHW) responsibly and locally for free.
From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. residents can bring household hazardous waste materials to the North Westside Road Transfer Station.
How to prepare your HHW:
- Look for corrosive, flammable, explosive or poisonous symbols on the label
- Keep in original container
- No empty containers (except paint cans)
- Pack upright for transport in an open box; avoid transporting in garbage bags
Acceptable products include liquid and aerosol paint, flammable liquids and aerosols, propane tanks, domestic pesticides with a poison symbol and PCP number, gasoline (in an approved ULC container only – container will not be returned), household and automotive batteries, electronics, and computer equipment, along with small appliances, light bulbs and fixtures.
Please note, leaking containers, industrial or commercial waste products will not be accepted.
This event is exclusively for residential hazardous waste and is only open to residents who are authorized to use the North Westside Road Transfer Station located on Sugarloaf Forest Service Road, West Kelowna BC.
To find the transfer station, follow the signs – turn at the corner of Westside Road and Sugarloaf Forest Service Road (approximately 3.2 km past Udell Road in Killiney Beach).
