Central Okanagan Regional Hospital District
Interior Health capital project update received
The Board received a presentation for information from Interior Health on the status of capital projects and equipment investments at Kelowna General Hospital, Brookhaven Extended Care, Cottonwoods Care Centre and Three Links Manor, including updates on hospital infrastructure, diagnostic imaging, long-term care and facility renewal projects.
Memorandum of understanding with Interior Health
The Board stated their appreciation for the memorandum of understanding between Interior Health and Interior regional hospital districts, recognized its value in supporting regional collaboration and expressed a willingness for future consideration of enhancements.
Regional District of Central Okanagan
Development permit amendment approved for wildfire-impacted property
The Board approved Development Permit Amendment DP-26-11 for the property at 1643 N. Westside Rd. in the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area, allowing the owners to rebuild a home destroyed in the 2023 McDougall Creek wildfire.
Crown land tenure endorsed for North Westside Transfer Station
The Regional Board endorsed the application to the Province of British Columbia for a Crown land tenure to expand the North Westside Transfer Station to a size of 0.53 hectares.
UBCM emergency preparedness grant application approval
The Board approved the submission of an application to the Union of BC Municipalities Community Emergency Preparedness Fund Emergency Support Services Equipment and Training funding stream for up to $180,000. If approved, the funding will support Emergency Support Services equipment upgrades, training, exercises, and volunteer recruitment and retention initiatives throughout the Central Okanagan.
