Water Quality Advisory for Killiney Beach water system
The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has issued a Water Quality Advisory for residents served by the Killiney Beach water system due to increased turbidity (cloudiness of water).
This advisory affects all properties connected to the system. Roadside sign notices will be in place to advise affected residents.
As a precaution, all customers, especially those with weakened immune systems, children and the elderly should bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least 60 seconds. Once cooled, use it for drinking, brushing teeth, washing and preparing food, and making beverages or ice. Customers may choose bottled or distilled water as an alternative.
The Water Quality Advisory will remain in effect until bacterial testing and disinfection levels are within normal drinking water standards in the distribution system.
