Garbage and yard waste
Garbage and yard waste collection is managed by the RDCO for single family dwellings and pick-up service is provided by Environmental 360 Solutions (E360S).
- Garbage is collected weekly and yard waste is collected every other week from March 1 to December 31.
Recycling
Recycling collection is managed by Recycle BC and pick-up service is also provided by E360S.
- Recycling is collected every other week, alternating with yard waste collection.
- New in May 2026, flexible plastics and non-deposit glass bottles and jars are collected in pink and grey boxes on the same day as blue-lidded carts for paper and packaging.

How to set out carts and boxes
- Carts must be placed outside by 7 a.m. on collection day. Avoid placing items out earlier to reduce wildlife conflicts. Learn more about managing attractants.
- Allow 1m (3 ft.) of space between carts and boxes and any other obstacles.
- Place your cart on the street with the wheels against the curb. If there is no curb, place it on the road shoulder or on your lawn.
- Do not place carts or boxes in bike lanes or block sidewalks - items must not obstruct cyclists or pedestrians.
- All material must fit into the carts with the lid closed; no extra materials will be collected.
- If you have extra garbage, you can purchase up to two tag-a-bag stickers ($2.50 each) for collection of additional garbage bags.
- See cart upgrades below for options.
Cart upgrades
- Upgrades to garbage and yard waste carts must be completed through local jurisdictions (see below).
- Recycling cart or box replacements may be ordered by calling 250-412-5336 or emailing recyclebc@e360s.ca

Winter collection
Large accumulations of snow may cause delays in collection. Leave your carts out and they will be collected as soon as possible. Do not bring your carts or boxes back in until they have been emptied.
Additional considerations for carts in winter:
- Do not place carts behind or on top of snowbanks.
- Clear the snow from an area to place your carts and boxes. Residents are responsible for maintaining an appropriate space on their property for set-out.
- Keep carts off the travelled portion of the roadway so they don't interfere with snowplows.
- Clear your cart of snow and ice to ensure the lid opens easily.
