As our communities grow and more people enjoy local parks and trails, it is important to remember that we are visitors in wildlife habitat. Creating safe and positive experiences for both people and wildlife starts with understanding how we can responsibly share these spaces. 

Temporary closures are planned this fall at Bertram Creek Regional Park and Johns Family Nature Conservancy Regional Park as the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) undertakes infrastructure improvement projects designed to support the long-term operation and maintenance of both parks.

As bears prepare to hibernate, the Regional District of Central Okanagan and WildSafeBC are reminding residents to manage attractants around their homes and yards to reduce conflict with bears. Attractants include garbage, fruit, BBQs and pet food left out unattended.
